Study on Narrow Pillar Setting and Support Design in Thick Coal Seam

Abstract：According to the problems of narrow pillars setting for gas drainage gateway of ventilation system with two air-intake and two air-return airways in thick coal seam in Zhulinshan Coal Mine ,the stability of roadways was studied by theoretical calculation ,numerical simulation ,field monitoring ,and so on. The results show :while the width of narrow pillar is 8 m ,the floor heave and displacement of narrow pillar sidewall are all smallest. Moreover ,the effect of parameters of bolts and anchors to the deformation of gas drainage gateways during the secondary reinforce support was also studied ,the sec-ondary support design was optimized ,and it made a very good application effect.
