Water Blocking-off Method for East Ventilating Shaft Passing Aqueous Cave in Fenghuangshan Iron Mine

Abstract：Water gushing took place in working face ,while the East Ventilating Shaft had been dug 696 m in Fenghuangshan Iron Mine ,the outflow of water reached 23.55 m3/h. According to the cir‐cumstances of surrounding rock outcrop at the field ,construction scheme of “former supporting ,later grouting for water blocking”was put forward. The construction technology and preventive counter‐measure of “driving and supporting for a short section ,increasing the thickness and the strength of shaft wall” was applied ,the grouting pressure-sustaining layer formed ,grout filling body and sur‐rounding rock bonded together ,and form the unified carrying body and impermeable w all. T he stabili‐ty ,completeness and impermeability of surrounding rock could be increased. After grouting reinforce‐ment ,the outflow of water reduced below 0.5 m3/h ,the water blocking effect was very obvious.
