Abstract:When a +455m level general air returning crosscut of Yibin Tianchi Jintang Coal Mine was driving in Maokou limestone at a distance of 361m ,at 6m behind the driving face ,a large water inrush was suddenly occurred from cracks of a dry karst cave at two shoulder parts of the crosscut. The water inrush volume was 360m3/h and thus the crosscut with a length of 361m was fully flooded. After the water were drained out with forced water drainage measures ,two water collection tanks were applied to cover the water inrush points and two water pipelines on the water collection tanks were applied to convey water out and then take water far away. Then a H type steel bridge was set up at the water in‐rush point ,a concrete grouting plug wall was made on the bridge and the two water collection tanks were buried in the concrete grouting plug wall. Finally a double grout injection was applied to the seal‐ing and the sealing operation was a full success.
