Abstract:In a construction of a mine inclined shaft at the shallow depth of watery loess section of a mine in Western China ,a roof falling accident was occurred and was hard to handle .A inclined length of the roof falling area was 581 .2m and a vertical depth to the surface ground was 48.5m.According to the certain conditions ,a backfill grouting to seal water and a grouting backfilling and reinforcement to the roof falling area of the heading face and other technology were applied to handle the roof falling . The grouting and reinforcement were successful and the inclined shaft heading were safety and suc-cessfully conducted .The grout for the backfill grouting were mainly the cement-sodium silicate double grout and the grout for the grouting in the roof falling area of the heading face was polyurethane .The mine incline shaft was passed through the roof falling area and was in a normal construction.
