Abstract:In order to study the carbon flow process in the long process of the blast furnace-converter in the steel industry, based on the principle of carbon element balance, the material flow diagram and carbon flow Sankey diagram of the long process of blast furnace-converter in steel enterprises were drawn, and their flow characteristics were analyzed.By analyzing the CO2 emissions and emission reduction potential of each process, the importance of reducing carbon emissions in the long process of blast furnace-converter is emphasized. The results show that the carbon emission intensity of the blast furnace-converter long process fluctuates around 2,000 kg CO2/(t crude steel),with the carbon emissions from the ironmaking process in the blast furnace being the highest. It is recommended to adopt technologies such as oxygen blast furnaces, hydrogen metallurgy, and waste heat recovery to reduce carbon emissions and promote the steel industry towards a low-carbon development direction.
