Abstract:Based on the finite time thermodynamic theory,an endoreversible isothermal heating modified Atkinson cycle is established, the cycle efficiency and power analytical expressions are derived. The effects of pre-expansion ratio, the maximum temperature ratio and heat transfer loss on cycle performance are analyzed, and the performance of the endoreversible isothermal heating modified Atkinson cycle is compared with that of the endoreversible traditional Atkinson cycle. The results show that, under the same cycle parameter condition, the performance of the isothermal heating modified Atkinson cycle is better than that of the traditional Atkinson cycle. The curves of power versus compression ratio and efficiency versus compression ratio are all parabolic-like ones, and the curve of power versus efficiency is loop-shaped one.The cycle performance increases with the increases of the cycle pre-expansion ratio and the maximum temperature ratio.
