Resource characteristics and research status of expanded perlite for building

Abstract：The related product standards of expanded perlite for construction at home and abroad are combed,and the chemical composition,microstructure,and hydrophilic mechanism of expanded perlite are analyzed.It is pointed out that the key to keep the excellent thermal insulation performance of expanded perlite is to change the hydrophilic functional groups and microporous structure of its surface layer.The mechanism and research status of modified methods of expanded perlite,such as silicone hydrophobic agent spraying,polymer coating,and SiO2 aerogel filling,are summarized,which provides a reference for related technicians to produce or use expanded perlite.
