Effect of Small Acupotomy Combined with Joint Cavity Injection of Sodium Hyaluronate in the Treatment of Patients with Shoulder Periarthritis

Abstract：Objective: To analyze the clinical effect of acupuncture with fine needle combined with intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate in the treatment of adhesive capsulitis. Methods: A total of 58 patients with adhesive capsulitis treated in our hospital from January 2023 to January 2024 were selected as the study sample, and randomly divided into control group and observation group using random number table method, with 29 cases in each group. The control group was treated with intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate, while the observation group received additional acupuncture with fine needle on the basis of the control group. The clinical efficacy, shoulder joint pain degree, shoulder joint function, and shoulder joint range of motion before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group was 96.55%, which was higher than 79.31% of the control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, the VAS score and total symptom score of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, while the shoulder joint function score was higher (P < 0.05). After treatment, the range of motion of the shoulder joint in flexion, abduction, extension, external rotation, and internal rotation in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Combining acupuncture with fine needle therapy and intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate can effectively improve the symptoms of the shoulder joint in patients with adhesive capsulitis, enhance the activity ability of the shoulder joint, and achieve satisfactory therapeutic effects. This comprehensive treatment plan is worth applying and promoting in the treatment of adhesive capsulitis.
