Abstract:Objective: To explore the effect of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection on microvascular regeneration around wounds in patients with refractory paronychia. Methods: A total of 100 patients with refractory paronychia admitted to our hospital from May 2022 to May 2024 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 50 cases in each group. The observation group received PRP injection treatment, while the control group received conventional anti-infection treatment. The two groups were compared in terms of microvessel density (MVD) evaluation indicators, wound healing speed, VAS pain scores, quality of life scores, and incidence of adverse reactions. Results: After treatment, the MVD score of the observation group was better than that of the control group (P < 0.05), the wound healing speed was better than that of the control group (P < 0.05), the VAS pain score was lower than that of the control group (P < 0.05), and the quality of life score was higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion: PRP injection has a significant effect on promoting wound healing in patients with refractory paronychia, mainly manifested by promoting microvascular regeneration and relieving pain. PRP therapy can be used as an effective adjunctive treatment for refractory paronychia and is recommended for further clinical application.
