Clinical Effect of Modified Bufei Tang on Cough Caused by Pulmonary Qi Deficiency in Adolescents
CHU Haiyun
Abstract:Objective: To explore the clinical effect of modified Bu Fei Tang in treating cough due to lung qi deficiency in adolescents. Methods: A total of 80 adolescents with cough due to lung qi deficiency who were admitted to our hospital from January 2022 to June 2023 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into a control group and a study group, each with 40 cases. The control group received conventional treatment, while the study group received modified Bu Fei Tang treatment. The scores of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) symptoms, pulmonary function indicators, and clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups. Results: There was no significant difference in TCM symptom scores or pulmonary function indicators between the two groups before treatment (P > 0.05). After treatment, the symptom scores of cough, sputum production, shortness of breath, and weak voice, as well as FVC, FEV1, and FEV1/FVC, were better in the study group than in the control group, and the total effective rate of treatment was higher in the study group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Modified Bu Fei Tang treatment for adolescents with cough due to lung qi deficiency can improve TCM symptoms and pulmonary function, with ideal therapeutic effects, which is worth promoting in clinical practice.
