Abstract:Objective: To explore the application effect of single-session lumbar puncture with fine needle technique in anesthesia for perineal and lower limb minor surgeries. Methods: A total of 80 patients undergoing elective perineal and lower limb minor surgeries at the operating room of Dongxing District People's Hospital of Neijiang City from June 2023 to August 2024 were selected. They were randomly divided into study group and control group using a random number table, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received combined spinal-epidural anesthesia, while the study group received single-session lumbar puncture with fine needle technique. The pain level, vital signs, success rate of one-time puncture, and incidence of adverse events were compared between the two groups. Results: The visual analog scale (VAS) score during puncture in the study group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). The systolic blood pressure (SBP) and heart rate (HR) at 1, 5, and 10 minutes after anesthesia in the study group were more stable compared to the control group (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the success rate of one-time puncture between the two groups (P>0.05). The total incidence of adverse events in the study group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The application of single-session lumbar puncture with fine needle technique in anesthesia for perineal and lower limb minor surgeries can meet the requirements of surgery, relieve pain during puncture, provide good anesthetic effects, and reduce the occurrence of adverse events during the perioperative period.
