Abstract:Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effect of video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) on patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods A total of 70 NSCLC patients admitted to our hospital from January 2020 to December 2023 were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 35 cases in each group. The observation group received VATS treatment, while the control group received open thoracic surgery. The perioperative indicators, immune function indicators, inflammatory factor levels, and incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results The intraoperative blood loss in the observation group was less than that in the control group, and the drainage tube retention days, postoperative analgesia time, and hospitalization days were shorter in the observation group than in the control group (P < 0.05). Three days after surgery, the CD3+, CD4+, and CD4+/CD8+ levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, while the CD8+ level was lower. The levels of all inflammatory factors were also lower in the observation group (P < 0.05). The total incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion VATS treatment can improve the immune function and inflammatory response of NSCLC patients, reduce postoperative complications, and optimize the perioperative indicators, showing significant therapeutic advantages.
