Abstract:Objective: To explore the clinical effect of integrated traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture, massage, and herbal therapy in the treatment of facial paralysis. Methods: A total of 82 patients with facial paralysis admitted to our hospital from March 2021 to March 2022 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group using an odd-even grouping method, with 41 cases in each group. The control group received traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture and massage treatment, while the experimental group received additional herbal therapy on top of the control group's treatment. The two groups were compared in terms of TCM syndrome scores, total effective rate of treatment, and quality of life scores. Results: After intervention, the TCM syndrome scores of both groups decreased compared to before, and the experimental group had lower scores than the control group (P < 0.05). The quality of life and clinical efficacy of the experimental group were better than those of the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The combination of herbal medicine with traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture and massage is significantly effective in treating facial paralysis, which helps improve the effectiveness of treatment, alleviate clinical symptoms, and enhance the quality of life of patients.
