Clinical Effect of Instant Scanning Glucose Monitoring System on Blood Glucose Management in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes

Abstract:Objective To investigate the impact of flash glucose monitoring system on blood glucose management in patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods A total of 180 patients with type 2 diabetes admitted to our hospital from January 2023 to December 2023 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group, each with 90 cases. The control group received routine education and management, while the experimental group was managed with the flash glucose monitoring system in addition to the control group's intervention. The levels of glycosylated hemoglobin, blood glucose fluctuation amplitude, fasting plasma glucose coefficient of variation (CV-FPG), and hypoglycemia incidence were compared between the two groups. Results After the intervention, the experimental group had lower levels of glycosylated hemoglobin, postprandial glucose excursion (PPGE), mean amplitude of glycemic excursions (MAGE), and largest amplitude of glycemic excursions (LAGE) than the control group (P<0.05). On days 3, 5, 9, and 15 after the intervention, the CV-FPG of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). The experimental group had fewer episodes of hypoglycemia, shorter duration, and smaller proportion of time spent in hypoglycemia compared to the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The flash glucose monitoring system can effectively reduce glycosylated hemoglobin, PPGE, MAGE, LAGE, CV-FPG, as well as the number, duration, and proportion of time spent in hypoglycemia in patients with type 2 diabetes.
