Abstract:Urinary retention is one of the most common complications after stroke, and this complication could not only lead to patients'physical discomforts,e.g.,urinary tract infection, hydronephrosis, etc.,but also cause patients'mental disorders such as anxiety, depression, etc.,that even seriously hindered patients'rehabilitation recovery progress in the recent years. In the past few years,TCM rehabilitation therapy has been proven by a number of studies to present the clear advantages for improving urinary retention recovery after stroke by multiple targets and pathways through interventions. In this article,we summarize systematically the mechanisms and clinical effect of characteristic TCM intervention therapy such as acupuncture, moxibustion, and herbal medicine, and reflect on the vital value for psychological intervention,so as to provide evidence-based clinical reference.
