Analysis of influencing factors of recovery quality after endoscopic mucosal dissection in elderly patients with early esophageal cancer

Abstract：Objective To analyze the influencing factors of recovery quality after endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)in elderly patients with early esophageal cancer.Methods A total of 250 elderly patients with early esophageal cancer who underwent ESD treatment in our hospital from February 2020 to February 2024 were retrospectively selected as the research objects,and were divided into excellent group(QoR-15 score>121)and poor group(QoR-15 score≤121)according to the quality of recovery-15 scale(QoR-15)score on the 14 th day after operation.The general data scale and QoR-15 were used for investigation.Univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression were used to analyze the influencing factors of recovery quality after ESD in elderly patients with early esophageal cancer.Results The QoR-15 score of 250 elderly patients with early esophageal cancer 14 days after ESD was(115.38±10.65)points,of which 71 cases had QoR-15 score≤121 points.Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that.Low education level(OR=0.465,95%CI:0.257～0.838),no spouse(OR=4.174,95%CI:1.588～10.975),preoperative pain(OR=0.235,95%CI:0.089～0.619),nutritional impact symptom(NIS)≥2(OR=4.257,95%CI:1.700～10.659),low social support rating scale(SSRS)(OR=0.533,95%CI:0.451～0.631)were independent risk factors for poor quality of recovery after ESD in elderly patients with early esophageal cancer(P<0.05).Conclusion The quality of postoperative recovery in elderly patients with early esophageal cancer after ESD is at a medium level.Low education level,no spouse,preoperative pain,NIS≥2,and low SSRS score are the influencing factors.Targeted interventions based on the above influencing factors are helpful to improve the quality of postoperative recovery.
