Clinical Observation of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Combined with Rabeprazole in the Treatment of Functional Dyspepsia in the Elderly
Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of cognitive behavioral therapy combined with rabeprazole in the treatment of functional dyspepsia (FD) in the elderly. Methods A total of 130 elderly patients with functional dyspepsia treated at the Sixth Medical Center of the Chinese PLA General Hospital from January 2023 to January 2024 were selected and randomly divided into a control group (65 cases) and an observation group (65 cases). The control group was treated with rabeprazole plus bifidobacterium lactobacillus ternary live bacterial preparation, while the observation group received cognitive behavioral therapy on top of the conventional treatment. The efficacy, gastrointestinal function, cognitive behavior, and psychological status of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 93.85%, significantly higher than that of the control group (76.92%), with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the scores for upper abdominal distension (0.42 ± 0.09), upper abdominal pain (0.52 ± 0.09), and belching and acid regurgitation (0.78 ± 0.17) in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the disease perception score (31.47 ± 5.49) in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the Morisky medication adherence scale score (6.66 ± 0.59) was higher than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the HAMD (7.26 ± 1.34) and HAMA (8.34 ± 2.16) scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). Conclusion Cognitive behavioral therapy can effectively improve the therapeutic effect, alleviate clinical symptoms, enhance cognitive behavior, and reduce anxiety and depression levels in elderly patients with functional dyspepsia, providing strong evidence-based support for clinical practice.
