Abstract:Objective To study the improvement of lung function, blood gas index and efficacy in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)patients. Methods A retrospective study was conducted on 54 COPD patients who underwent a respiratory muscle resistance training program as the observation group in our hospital from December 2023 to May 2024.Concurrently,54 patients who received progressive respiratory rehabilitation training were selected as the control group. The control group followed the progressive respiratory rehabilitation training program, while the observation group received resistance training in addition to the control group's program. The two groups were compared in terms of pulmonary function, respiratory muscle strength, rehabilitation indices, and the Medical Research Council(MRC)dyspnea grade. Results Before the intervention, there were no significant differences in lung function(FEV1%pred,FVC%pred,FEV1/FVC),arterial blood gas(PaO2,PaCO2),respiratory muscle strength(MIP,MEP),exercise tolerance(6 MWD)and symptom score(CAT)between the two groups(P>0.05).After the intervention, the FEV1(48.60±7.25%)of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group(t=5.177,P=0.000),and the FVC%pred(79.86±9.81)%and FEV1/FVC(65.06±8.12)were higher. After the intervention, the PaO2(61.32±5.44)mmHg in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and PaCO2(58.49±1.18)mmHg was significantly lower than that in the control group(t=6.132,5.895,P=0.000).The MIP(98.63±10)in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control, and the MEP(35.62±6.11)cmH2O was lower than that in the control group(t=11.20,7.182,P<0.05).After the intervention, the 6 MWD(574.49±102.36)m of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(t=4.212,P=0.000).While the score of CAT(16.23±4.67)was significantly higher than that of the control group(t=8.177,P=0.000).After the intervention, the proportion of mild cases was higher and the proportion of severe cases was lower in the observation group compared to the control group, with a statistically significant(x2=4.026,P=0.012).Conclusion Resistance training combined with combined progressive respiratory rehabilitation can significantly improve blood gas indices, respiratory function, rehabilitation outcomes, providing a new effective strategy for their rehabilitation treatment.
