Diagnosis and Treatment Strategies for Postoperative Myocardial Injury in the Elderly: A Discussion and Experience
Abstract:With the process of social aging, statistical reports show that more than half of people over 65 years old will undergo at least one surgical treatment. Due to multiple factors such as aging, comorbidities, and frailty in elderly patients, the risk of adverse events during surgery is significantly increased. In addition, data from the National Health Commission of China show that the number of non-cardiac surgery patients aged over 65 is increasing at an annual rate of 8.7%, with a perioperative myocardial ischemia incidence rate as high as 12.4% (2.3% in young and middle-aged patients).
