Analysis of Quality of Life in Patients with Bladder Instillation Chemotherapy and Its Influencing Factors
Abstract:Objective: To analyze the quality of life of patients with bladder instillation chemotherapy and its influencing factors. Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 126 patients with bladder cancer who underwent bladder instillation chemotherapy at Nantong Third People's Hospital from February 2022 to February 2024. The Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Bladder (FACT-BL) scale was used to evaluate the quality of life, the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7) was used to assess anxiety levels, and the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) was used to evaluate depression levels. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to identify factors affecting quality of life. Results: The total score of quality of life for the 126 patients was (115.73±11.95). The scores of each dimension, from highest to lowest, were: bladder cancer-specific module, physical condition, functional status, social/family condition, and emotional status. Univariate analysis showed statistically significant differences in the total FACT-BL scores among patients with different ages, marital status, disease stages, anxiety levels, and depression levels (P<0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified marital status, disease stage, anxiety level, and depression level as risk factors affecting the quality of life of patients undergoing bladder instillation chemotherapy (P<0.05). Conclusion: The quality of life of patients undergoing bladder instillation chemotherapy is at a moderate level. Clinically, targeted interventions should be provided based on the patient's specific condition, and timely psychological counseling should be offered to improve the patient's quality of life.
