Clinical Study on the Treatment of Hallux Valgus with Structural Manipulation to Adjust Talus Subluxation
Abstract:Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of structural manipulation to adjust talus subluxation in the treatment of hallux valgus. Methods: Fifty patients with mild to moderate hallux valgus who were treated at the outpatient clinic of Beijing Daxing District Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital from November 2023 to January 2024 were selected and treated with traditional Chinese medicine structural techniques. The pain level, hallux valgus angle (HVA), and intermalleolar angle (IMA) were compared before treatment and at the final follow-up. The foot joint function was also compared before treatment and at the final follow-up. The safety of the treatment and patient satisfaction were evaluated. Results: At the final follow-up, the pain level was significantly relieved compared to before treatment (P < 0.05). HVA and IMA were significantly reduced compared to before treatment (P < 0.05). The foot joint function was significantly improved compared to before treatment (P < 0.05). No significant complications occurred after treatment, and the patients had a high level of satisfaction. Conclusion: The application of structural manipulation to adjust talus subluxation in the treatment of hallux valgus showed obvious efficacy, effectively alleviating pain, improving symptoms of hallux valgus, enhancing foot joint function, with high safety and high patient satisfaction.
