Abstract:Objective To investigate the expressions of carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)and lactate dehydrogenase(LDH)in the serum of colorectal cancer(CRC),and analyze the relationship with pathological characteristics and prognosis. Methods 75 CRC patients in the hospital from March 2021 to March 2023 were retrospectively selected as the CRC group, and 70 healthy subjects with physical examination were included in the healthy group. The levels of serum CEA and LDH in the two groups at admission were collected and compared and the relationship of CEA and LDH with pathological characteristics of CRC patients was analyzed.Followed up continued until June 2024,Cox regression univariate and multivariate models were used to analyze the factors affecting the prognosis of CRC patients. Results Compared with(2.19±0.51)ng/ml and(164.39±18.34)U/L in the healthy group, serum CEA and LDH levels with(26.17±5.29)ng/ml and(359.43±31.82)U/L in the CRC group were higher(t=37.754,44.799,P<0.05).There were significant differences in the levels of CEA and LDH among patients with different lymph node metastases, differentiation degrees and clinical stages(P<0.05).They were followed up until June 2024,49 cases survived and 26 cases died among 75 patients.Under multivariate Cox model, lymph node metastasis,CEA ≥ 26.17 ng/ml,and LDH≥359.43 U/L were independent influencing factors for poor prognosis in CRC patients(P<0.05).Conclusion Serum CEA and LDH levels are higher in CRC patients.CEA ≥ 26.17 ng/ml,lymph node metastasis, and LDH ≥ 359.43 U/L are independent factors affecting the prognosis of CRC patients.
