Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between the expression levels of matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP2)and silencing information regulator 1(SIRT1)and clinicopathological features, postoperative recurrence and metastasis in cervical cancer patients. Methods Clinical data from eighty cervical cancer patients admitted to Linquan County People's Hospital from July 2020 to May 2023 were collected. The levels of MMP2 and SIRT1 in cervical cancer tissues and normal cervical tissues were compared. The relationship between the levels and clinicopathological features was analyzed.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves were used to analyze the value of MMP2 and SIRT1 in predicting postoperative recurrence and metastasis. Results The positive rates of MMP-2 and SIRT1 in cervical cancer tissues were higher than those in normal cervical tissues(x2=46.406,36.465,P<0.05).There were statistically significant differences in MMP2 positive rate in cervical cancer tissues among cervical cancer patients at different International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics(FIGO)stages, and patients with/without lymph node metastasis(x2=4.748,6.302,P<0.05).There were statistically significant differences in SIRT 1 positive rate in cervical cancer tissues among cervical cancer patients at different FIGO stages, and patients with/without lymph node metastasis(x2=5.144,6.191,P<0.05).Multivariate analysis showed that FIGO stage was a risk factor for positivity of MMP-2 and SIRT1 in cervical cancer tissues of cervical cancer patients(P<0.05).After a year of follow-up,the recurrence and metastasis-free rates in MMP2 and SIRT1 negative patients were higher than those in positive patients(x2=4.791,5.727,P<0.05).Conclusions The expression of MMP-2 and SIRT1 in cervical cancer tissues is higher than that in normal cervical tissues.MMP-2 and SIRT1 are involved in the occurrence and development of cervical cancer.Combination of the two can enhance the prediction of recurrence and metastasis in cervical cancer patients.
