Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on diabetic foot patients. Methods A total of 102 diabetic foot patients admitted to the hospital from June 2021 to May 2024 were selected as the study objects and were divided into the regular group(n=51)and the hyperbaric oxygen group(n=51)by random number table method. The regular group received conventional treatment, and the hyperbaric oxygen group received hyperbaric oxygen therapy on this basis. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results In terms of overall treatment response rate, the hyperbaric oxygen group was higher than the regular group(90.20%vs 72.55%,x2=5.718,P=0.017).After treatment, the fasting plasma glucose of the hyperbaric oxygen group was lower than that of the regular group[(5.67±1.53)mmol/L vs(7.05±1.99)mmol/L],while the vascular endothelial growth factor level was(97.52±7.89)pg/mL,which was higher than(86.23±7.12)pg/mL of the regular group, and the differences were statistically significant(t=3.926、7.587,P<0.05).After treatment, the whole blood low shear viscosity, whole blood high shear viscosity and hematocrit levels of the hyperbaric oxygen group were(8.96±1.53)mPa·s,(4.08±0.56)mPa·s,(41.52±3.38)%,respectively,which were lower than(10.05±2.27)mPa·s,(4.60±1.21)mPa·s and(43.92±4.70)%of the regular group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(t=2.844、2.785、2.961,P<0.05).Conclusion The hyperbaric oxygen therapy,by reducing the blood glucose level, promoting angiogenesis and improving the hemorheology indexes of patients, can significantly enhances diabetic foot healing.
