Application Effect Analysis of Multidisciplinary Collaboration Management Model in Perioperative Period of Patients Undergoing Transsphenoidal Resection of Pituitary Adenoma
Abstract:Objective: To investigate the application effect of the multidisciplinary treatment (MDT) management model in the perioperative period of patients undergoing transsphenoidal resection of pituitary adenoma. Methods: A total of 130 patients who underwent transsphenoidal resection of pituitary adenoma at the Department of Neurosurgery, The First People's Hospital of Huai'an City from January 2021 to December 2023 were retrospectively selected. Four patients were lost to follow-up in the conventional group, and eight patients were lost to follow-up in the MDT group. Patients receiving traditional conventional management were divided into the conventional group (n=61), while those receiving the multidisciplinary collaboration management model were divided into the MDT group (n=57). General clinical data of the two groups were collected, and the surgical efficacy, operation time, intraoperative blood loss, hospital stay, Karnofsky performance score, quality of life (QOL) score for tumor patients, and incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results: The total resection rate (88.52%) in the MDT group was higher than that in the conventional group (71.93%), and the Karnofsky score (86.42±6.53) and QOL score (53.36±4.47) were also higher than those in the conventional group (72.65±9.54 and 46.81±7.32), with statistically significant differences (x2=5.171, t=9.201, 5.909, P<0.05). The operation time (96.78±8.37 min), intraoperative blood loss (57.12±8.52 ml), hospital stay (7.69±0.54 days), and complication rate (13.11%) in the MDT group were all lower than those in the conventional group (121.58±14.46 min, 81.18±7.58 ml, 8.14±0.42 days, 31.58%), with statistically significant differences (t=11.494, 16.164, 5.028, x2=5.848, P<0.05). Conclusion: The application of the multidisciplinary collaboration management model in transsphenoidal resection of pituitary adenoma can shorten the operation time in the perioperative period, reduce intraoperative blood loss, improve clinical efficacy, and have a positive effect on improving patients' quality of life and reducing complications, indicating good application value.
