Research on the Effect of Information Support Combined with Mindful Breathing in Alleviating Anxiety in Patients Undergoing Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Abstract:Objective: To explore the application effect of information support combined with mindful breathing in alleviating anxiety in patients undergoing cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMRI). Methods: A total of 96 patients who underwent CMRI at Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region People's Hospital from August 2023 to July 2024 were prospectively selected and randomly divided into a control group (48 cases) and an observation group (48 cases) according to the random number table method. The control group received routine intervention, while the observation group received information support combined with mindful breathing training on top of the control group's intervention. The stress levels [systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), heart rate (HR)] of both groups were compared when entering the examination room and immediately after the examination. The psychological state of both groups was assessed using the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) before entering the examination room and within 1 hour after the examination. The satisfaction of both groups within 1 hour after the examination and the incidence of adverse reactions during the examination were also compared. Results: After the examination, the SBP, DBP, HR, S-AI score, and T-AI score of the observation group were lower than those of the control group (t=5.838, 5.393, 8.801, 6.099, 5.346, P<0.05). The satisfaction of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (x2=5.031, P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions during the examination in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (x2=5.352, P<0.05). Conclusion: The combination of information support and mindful breathing for patients undergoing CMRI can effectively improve stress levels and anxiety conditions, enhance patient satisfaction, and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions during the examination.
