Analysis of risk factors for secondary infection in pemphigus vulgaris patients

Abstract：Objective To explore the risk factors of secondary infection in pemphigus vulgaris patients.Methods Prospective selection of 110 patients with pemphigus vulgaris from January 2020 to January 2022 in our hospital,and divided them into secondary infection group and non-secondary infection group based on whether they had secondary infections.A factor analysis was conducted.Results There were 26 cases in the secondary infection group(23.64％),and 84 cases in the non-secondary infection group(76.36％).Univariate analysis showed that the pittsburgh sleep quality index scale(PSQI)score(x2=16.297,P＜0.001),the anxiety subscale of the hospital anxiety and depression scale(HADS-A)(x2=8.036,P=0.005),the depression subscale of the hospital anxiety and depression scale(HADS-D)(x2=4.319,P=0.038),the inpatient experience questionnaire(IPEQ)(t=9.954,P＜0.001),matrix metalloproteinase 9(MMP-9)(t=4.109,P＜0.001),and Interleukin-17(IL-17)(t=9.507,P＜0.001)were all factors affecting secondary infections in pemphigus vulgaris,and the differences between the two groups were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Multivariate analysis showed that MMP-9(OR=1.032,95％ CI=1.018-1.258,P=0.022),IL-17(OR=1.148,95％ CI=1.019-1.293,P=0.023),PSQI score(OR=18.469,95％ CI=1.054-323.610,P=0.046),and IPEQ(OR=0.794,95％ CI=0.691-0.913,P=0.001)were all independent factors affecting secondary infections in pemphigus vulgaris,high level of MMP-9,high level of IL-17,low sleep quality and low hospitalization satisfaction were risk factors.Conclusion The factor analysis in this paper can effectively identify the risk factors of secondary infection in pemphigus vulgaris patients and provide clinical reference.
