Abstract:Objective To explore the influence of wavefront-guided laser in situ keratomileusis(WF-LASIK)and small incision lenticule extraction(SMILE)on improving the visual quality in adult patients with ametropia. Methods 100 cases(200 eyes)of adult ametropia patients who received surgical treatment in the hospital were selected from March 2021 to December 2023 as the research subjects.According to the surgical types, the above patients were divided into WF-LASIK group(WF-LASIK,48 cases,96 eyes)and SMILE group(SMILE,52 cases,104 eyes). The uncorrected visual acuity(UCVA),best corrected visual acuity(BCVA),refractive conditions,higher-order aberration conditions, tear film stability[Schirmer I test(SIT),tear film break-up time(BUT)]were compared before surgery and at three months and six months after surgery, and the complications were recorded. Results Compared with before surgery, the UCVA and BCVA were decreased at three months and six months after surgery, the refractive conditions such as spherical, cylindrical and equivalent spherical degrees were down-regulated while the higher-order aberration conditions such as horizontal and vertical coma, spherical and total high-order aberrations were up-regulated,and SIT and BUT were reduced(P<0.05).There were no statistical differences in the UCVA,BCVA,spherical, cylindrical and equivalent spherical degrees between the WF-LASIK group and the SMILE group at three months and six months after surgery(P>0.05).The horizontal and vertical coma, spherical and total high-order aberrations in the WF-LASIK group at three months and six months after surgery were lower than those in the SMILE group(P<0.05).Compared with the WF-LASIK group at three months and six months after surgery, the SIT and BUT were higher in the SMILE group(P<0.05).There was no statistical significance in the total incidence rate of glare and bleeding between the WF-LASIK group and the SMILE group(1.92% vs.2.08%)(P>0.05).Conclusion WF-LASIK and SMILE have good efficiency and high safety in the treatment of adult ametropia.WF-LASIK can better improve the visual quality of adult ametropia patients, and its improvement on tear film stability is not as good as SMILE.
