Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of modified Qingjin Huatan Decoction combined with chemotherapy on traditional Chinese medicine symptom scores and serum cytokeratin 19 fragment 21-1(CYFRA21-1)and transforming growth factor beta 1(TGF-β1)in patients with primary lung cancer(phlegm-heat obstructing lung syndrome). Methods From July 2022 to March 2024,86 patients with primary lung cancer treated at Handan Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine were selected.According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group(chemotherapy)and the observation group(modified Qingjin Huatan Decoction combined with chemotherapy),with 43 cases in each group.Traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores, serum indicators, bone marrow suppression, and the incidence of adverse reactions were observed. Results After treatment, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores for cough and asthma, yellow phlegm and chest distress, dry mouth, vexation and sleeplessness and dry stool[(1.03±0.39)points,(1.12±0.31)points,(0.96±0.28)points,(0.82±0.29)points and(0.92±0.38)points],the levels of CYFRA21-1 and TGF-β1 in the observation group[(2.08±0.91)ng/mL,(17.15±3.38)µg/L]were significantly lower than those in the control group[(1.35±0.43)points,(1.36±0.34)points,(1.13±0.32)points,(0.96±0.27)points and(1.09±0.35)points;(2.75±0.98)ng/mL,(23.04±3.56)μg/L](t=3.615,3.420,2.622,2.317,2.158;3.285,7.868,P<0.05).The incidence of bone marrow suppression in the observation group(7.14%)was significantly lower than that in the control group(39.53%),and the effective rate of treatment(83.72%)was significantly higher than that in the control group(62.79%)(x2=4.568,4.808,P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions such as nausea and vomiting, fatigue, and skin rash was lower in the observation group(16.28%)than in the control group(23.25%)(x2=0.660,P>0.05).Conclusion Modified Qingjin Huatan Decoction combined with chemotherapy can improve clinical symptoms, inhibit disease progression, reduce chemotherapy toxicities, and improve clinical efficacy in patients with primary lung cancer(phlegm-heat obstructing lung syndrome).
