Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between serum brain-derived neurotrophic factor(brain-derived neurotrophic factor,BDNF),glial-derived neurotrophic factor(glial-derived neurotrophic factor,GDNF),decorin(decorin,DCN),and neuromodulin-l(neuromodulin-l,NRG-l)and the progression of disease, cognitive function, and clinical efficacy in patients with schizophrenia. Methods 282 patients with schizophrenia were forward-looking selected as the study group, the cases were enrolled from September 2020 to May 2023,and the collection site was the Seventh People's Hospital of Hengshui City, and the selected patients were treated with olanzapine tablets combined with modified electroconvulsive therapy for 2 months, and patients were reanalyzed into subgroups based on treatment outcome and condition. In addition,290 healthy people who underwent health checkups in our hospital during the same period were selected as the control group. The levels of serum indicator of schizophrenia in the study group and control group, different conditions and different clinical efficacy were compared, and the cognitive functions of the study group and control group were compared, and the correlation between levels of serum indicator and the progression of the condition and the correlation of patients with schizophrenia were analyzed. Results Levels of serum BDNF,GDNF,DCN,NRG-1 of the study group[(2.53±0.79)μg/L,(411.22±40.90)ng/L,(2.15±0.64)ng/ml,(9.76±2.65)pg/ml]were lower than those of the control group[(10.16±2.75)μg/L,(581.33±112.43)ng/L,(6.32±1.75)ng/ml,(34.87±9.22)pg/ml(t=44.828,67.688,37.641,44.000,P<0.05).The scores of semantic fluency, verbal memory, visual memory, and conformity coding of the study group[(15.32±4.41)points,(41.04±9.21)points,(15.32±4.10)points,(40.34±8.87)points]were lower than those of the control group[(23.69±6.71)points,(63.83±11.32)points,(29.54±8.43)points,(65.21±10.04)points](t=17.578,26.370,25.541,31.364,P<0.05),and the scores of the connectivity test[(53.78±10.46)points]were higher than those of the control group[(32.17±5.59)points](t=30.932,P<0.05).The levels of serum BDNF,GDNF,DCN,and NRG-1 of the high positive and negative symptom scale(PANSS)group[(1.97±0.56)μg/L,(310.34±27.56)ng/L,(1.22±0.40)ng/ml,(6.03±1.20)pg/ml]were lower than those of the low PANSS group[(3.08±1.02)μg/L、(512.09±54.23)ng/L、(3.08±0.88)ng/ml、(13.49±4.09)pg/ml](t=11.062,38.383,22.122,20.066,P<0.05).Levels of serum BDNF,GDNF,DCN,and NRG-1 showed a decreasing trend among the cured, effective, efficient, and ineffective groups(F=203.490,20.376,73.517,106.249,P<0.05).Levels of serum BDNF,GDNF,and NRG-l,DCN were negatively correlated with the scores of PANSS and connections test of schizophrenic patients(r=-0.513,-0.497,-0.523,-0.509;-0.501,-0.499,-0.520,-0.497,P<0.05);and positively correlated with the scores of semantic fluency, verbal memory, visual memory, and conformity coding scores(r=0.488,0.492,0.510,0.517;0.502,0.496,0.491,0.529;0.513,0.489,0.493,0.505;0.486,0.490,0.511,0.487,P<0.05).Conclusion Serum BDNF,GDNF,DCN,and NRG-1 are under-expressed in patients with schizophrenia, and changes in the levels of all four might be involved in the progression of the patient's disease and might be related to the patient's cognitive functioning, and the detection of the four indexes might be helpful in the assessment of the condition and prognosis of schizophrenia.
