Abstract:Objective To investigate the incidence and influencing factors of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy(CIPN)in breast cancer patients. Methods A total of 323 breast cancer patients who underwent chemotherapy in the hospital from March 2021 to December 2023 were selected and investigated using the CIPN assessment tool, general information questionnaire, social support scale, patient health questionnaire, etc.Univariate analysis and logistic regression analysis were performed to screen the influencing factors of CIPN in breast cancer patients. Results A total of 323 questionnaires were distributed and 305 were collected.Among the 305 patients undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer,211(69.18%)exhibited symptoms of CIPN,while 94(30.82%)did not. There were statistically significant differences between the CIPN group and the non-CIPN group in terms of age, anemia, adherence to exercise during chemotherapy, chemotherapy cycle, dosage form of paclitaxel drugs, chemotherapy type and PHQ-9 score(χ2=6.959、9.230、12.519、12.939,t=9.615,P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis results indicated that advanced age, anemia, failure to exercise during chemotherapy, long chemotherapy cycle,albumin-binding paclitaxel and depression were risk factors for CIPN in breast cancer patients(P<0.05).Conclusion The incidence of CIPN in patients undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer is high, and is susceptible to age, exercise, anemia, chemotherapy cycle, drug type and psychological status.
