Abstract:Objective To investigate the correlation between serum endothelial cell specific molecule-1(ESM-1),LP(a)levels and the nature of carotid plaque in patients with acute cerebral infarction(ACI).Methods 125 patients with ACI admitted to our hospital from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected as the study group and 60 healthy volunteers were selected as the control group. The serum ESM-1 and LP(a)levels were compared between two groups. The differences of serum ESM-1 and LP(a)levels in patients with different carotid artery stenosis degree and plaque nature were analyzed. The evaluation value of ESM-1 and LP(a)on the characteristics of carotid plaque was studied. Results The levels of ESM-1 and LP(a)in the study group were higher than those in the control group(t=33.795,21.897,P<0.05).The serum ESM-1 and LP(a)levels were increased with the increase of carotid artery stenosis, and serum ESM-1 and LP(a)levels were positively correlated with the degree of carotid artery stenosis(P<0.05).The serum ESM-1 and LP(a)levels in vulnerable plaque patients were higher than those in stable plaque patients(t=5.301,6.074,P<0.05).The area under the curve of vulnerable carotid plaque assessed by combined tests was 0.842,the sensitivity was 81.1%,and the specificity was 80.6%.Conclusion The increase of serum ESM-1 and LP(a)levels in ACI patients is related to the degree of carotid artery stenosis and the nature of arterial plaque, and the combined detection of serum ESM-1 and LP(a)levels has certain reference value in evaluating the nature of carotid artery plaque.
