Correlation relationship between obesity and atherogenic index of plasma in health checkup polulation

Abstract：Objective To investigate the relationship between obesity and atherogenic index of plasma(AIP)in health checkup polulation.Methods A total of 52 701 people who underwent health checkup from January to December 2019 were recruited in this study,who had met inclusion and exclusion standard.The detection condition of obesity were analyzed,indicators between obesity group and non-obese group,indicators in different AIP groups were observed and compared.Meanwhile,the correlation between BMI and various indicators was analyzed,and logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the correlation of obesity to related factors,predictive analyses were used to evaluate the association and discrimination ability between AIP,conventional lipid profiles and obesity.Results The total detection rate of obesity was 18.29%.Compared with those in non-obese group,in obesity group,AIP and systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),fasting plasma glucose(FPG),serum total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)were significantly increased,while HDL-C in obese group was lower than those in non-obese group(Z=-65.823,-53.031,-55.433,-40.972,-15.085,-60.505,-14.462,-51.668,P<0.05).There were significant differences in SBP,DBP,FPG,TC,LDL-C,BMI among different AIP groups(H = 3 328.079,4767.688,2791.027,3141.678,3456.627,11489.356,P<0.05).Spearman's correlation analyses showed a positive correlation between BMI and TC,TG,LDL-C,AIP(r=0.138,0.439,0.153,0.481,P<0.05)and negative correlation between HDL-C(r=-0.381,P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that AIP and age,gender,SBP,DBP,FPG and LDL-C were risk factors for obesity(P<0.05).The result of ROC showed that the AUC of AIP was higher than TG and HDL-C(P<0.05).Conclusion AIP is a risk factor for obesity,which has higher prediction value for obesity.AIP is a novel and better biomarker for prevention of obesity.
