Efficacy and postoperative wrist function of internal fixation with pronator quadratus reserve for unstable distal radius fractures
Abstract:Objective This study evaluated the efficacy of internal fixation with pronator quadratus reserve in treatment of unstable distal radius fractures and its effect on wrist function. Methods 98 patients with unstable distal radius fractures were randomly and equally divided into experimental group and control group according to the different treatment. The experimental group were treated with the plate fixation to reserve pronator quadratus, the control group did not reserve pronator muscle. Then the study compared the efficacy, operative time, blood loss, fracture healing time, complications and wrist function. Results The postoperative excellent rate, the good rate of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group. The function of wrist significantly increased after treatment. The operation time, blood loss, fracture healing time had no significant difference between the two groups. Conclusion Internal fixation with pronator quadratus reserve provide a satisfactory clinical efficacy in treating unstable radius fracture, so it is worthy of clinical application.
