Analysis of the prevalence and relevant factors of thyroid nodules among physical examination population
Abstract:Objective To investigate the prevalence of thyroid nodules among healthy population in Shanghai,and to provide scientific basis for the prevention and treatment of thyroid nodules.Methods A total of 4931 employees in the health examination at Hua Dong Sanatorium in 2016 were selected,and the relationship between the related factors and the incidence of thyroid nodules was analyzed by single factor analysis and multi factor Logistic regression.Results The prevalence of thyroid nodules was 49.5%,male 47.4%,female52.7%;overall,the prevalence of thyroid nodules increased with age(P < 0.001).Single factor analysis showed that gender,age,BMI,drinking history,hypertension,diabetes,fatty liver,dyslipidemia,systolic blood pressure,total cholesterol,fasting blood glucose,glycosylated hemoglobin,blood uric acid,thyroid stimulating hormone,free T3 and free T4 were statistically significant between two groups.The results of logistic regression indicated 6 significant variables.Conclusion Gender,age,history of drinking,hypertension,diabetes and thyroid stimulating hormone are related to the incidence of thyroid nodules.
