Effect of rosuvastatin on C-reactive protein and soluble cell adhesion molecule-1 in elderly patients with cerebral infarction
Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of rosuvastatin on C-reactive protein and soluble cell adhesion molecule-1 in patients with cerebral infarction. Methods A total of 624 patients with cerebral infarction were admitted to our hospital from June 2013 to June 2016.According to the random number method, they were divided into the observation group and the control group with 312 patients each. The patients in the two groups were treated with conventional drugs and were given blood pressure and antiplatelet drugs(except for the acute phase). The patients in the observation group were treated with rosuvastatin 10 mg 1 time/day.The control group was treated with oral administration of rosuvastatin 10 mg 1 time/day. Results After treatment, the carotid artery atherosclerotic plaque cross-sectional area was significantly decreased(P<0.05),and the control group showed no significant change. Treatment hs-CRP levels were significantly lower(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05). Compared with the control group, the level of sICAM in the control group decreased significantly more than that in the observation group(P < 0.05). Conclusion Rosuvastatin alone or ezetimibe combined with rosuvastatin significantly reduce blood lipids and serum sICAM-1. The rosuvastatin combined with ezetimibe can substantially reduce atherosclerotic plaque area, and more efficiently reduce serum sICAM-1.
