Effects of TCM-based comprehensive management on intervention of primary hypertension
Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effect of traditional Chinese medical(TCM)-based comprehensive management on the intervention of primary hypertension. Methods A total of 120 patients with primary hypertension were randomly assigned to cases group and controls group with a 1:1 ratio. Patients in the controls group were received anti-hypertensive drugs and routine care,and those in the cases group were further received syndrome differentiation,exercise guidance,emotional regulation,massage and acupoint percussion,taping pricking,ear acupoint massage and foot bath with herbs. WHO-QOL questionnaire was used to compare clinical symptoms,blood pressure control,quality of life between the two groups. Results There were significant differences in blood pressure,HPLP scores,TCM symptom classification quantization scale and WHO -QOL scores between before and after the intervention(P< 0.05,P< 0.01);also between in cases group and controls group(P< 0.05,P< 0.01). Conclusion TCM-based comprehensive management can improve the motivation and compliance in the patients with primary hypertension,and also improve the long-term blood control,clinical syndrome and quality of life.
