The prevalence of not visiting dental doctors in past three years was 74.6%(95%CI:72.7 ~ 76.4)in Lianyungang. The prevalence of dental brush was 96.6%(95%CI:95.6 ~ 97.6);99.4%(95% CI:99.1 ~ 99.8)in urban, higher than 95.2%(95% CI:93.8 ~ 96.7)in rural;95.5%(95% CI:93.9 ~ 97.0)for male and 97.5%(95%CI:96.5~98.5)for female. The prevanlence of not dental loss was 60.0%(95%CI:57.9~62.2),the highest prevalence of dental loss was 72.1% among the group aged 55 years and older, and the prevalence of dental loss among residents with hypertension and diabets were higher than that among those with no chronic diseases. The unconditional multi-factors logistic analysis showed that the protective factors were visiting dental doctors one time each year, dental brush twice times per day to prevent the hypertension and diabetes;the risk factors were dental loss to hypertension and diabetes, and higher risk with the more dental loss;but the hypertension and diabetes could increase the dental diseases and cause the dental loss. Conclusion Most of the residents in Lianyungang had not known more about oral health care, and their oral health behavior are at low level. The dental loss is very serious problem among the aged, the rural residents, hypertension and diabetes. It is suggested to educate the knowledge of oral health and oral health promotion to the residents, and boost the frequency of visiting dental doctors for reducing the decayed teeth and dental loss for prevention and control of the chronic diseases, like hypertension and diabetes.
