The relationship between helicobacter pylori infection and hyperhomocysteinemia in healthy subjects
Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between Helicobacter pylori(Hp)and serum hyperhomocysteinemia (HHcy). Methods During the period from January 1 to December 31,2016,a total of 2877 subjects in health management center were enrolled. Helicobacter pylori (Hp) and homocysteine(Hcy)were tested in all the subjects. IBM SPSS 21.0 software was used to analyze the data. Results The infection rate of Hp was 58.1%(1671/2877)in 2877 cases. The infection rate of Hp was 79.6%(203/255)in the cases who were less than 30 years. And the infection rate of Hp was gradually decreased with age. The difference was statistically significant; The total detection rate of HHcy was 34.8%(1002/2877).The detection rate of HHcy was decreased with age in cases who were over 60 years old. In younger groups, The detection rate of HHcy was positively correlated with age, and the detection rate was higher in men than women. The difference was statistically significant(P< 0.05). The prevalence of HHcy was 37.2%(622/1671)in Hp infected subjects, and higher than that in subjects without Hp infection(31.5%(380/1206)),and the difference was statistically significant.Logistic regression analysis showed that gender, age and Hp infection were the independent risk factors for HHcy(P<0.05).Conclusion Hp infection is associated with the occurrence of HHcy.
