The relationship between plasma fibrinogen and haemorrhagic transformation in cerebral rt-PA thrombolysis
Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between plasma fibrinogen levels before and after rt-PA thrombolysis and haemorrhagic transformation. Methods A total of 61 patients with cerebral infarction who received rt-PA thrombolysis were selected for the study and were divided into a non-bleeding group (n=49),a haemorrhagic infarcts group (n=8) and a parenchymal haematomas group (n=4). The dynamic changes in plasma fibrinogen levels before and after thrombolysis in all three groups were measured, and the relationship between plasma fibrinogen and haemorrhagic transformation after thrombolysis was analysed. Results The fibrinogen levels of the three groups before thrombolysis were not significantly different (P > 0.05). The level of fibrinogen declined 2 hours after thrombolysis and increased 24 hours after thrombolysis, but it was still lower than the initial level (P<0.01). The 2 h and the 24 h fibrinogen levels were not significantly different between the non-HT group and the HI group (P>0.05). The 2 h and 24 h fibrinogen levels were lower in the HI group and the non-HT group than in the PH group. Conclusion A low level of fibrinogen within 24 hours may be one of the risk factors for haemorrhagic transformation after cerebral rt-PA thrombolysis.
