A community nursing intervention in elderly patients with cardiac-cerebral vascular diseases
Abstract:Objective To improve cognitive decline and treatment compliance in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and to eventually improve the prognosis and reduce the morbidity and mortality of cardiovascular disease ,we applied positive nursing intervention measures to elderly patients with cardiac -cerebral vascular diseases. Methods We adopted self -designed questionnaires, including the "Questionnaire on the cognitive status of disease for elderly patients with cardiac-cerebral vascular diseases" and "Questionnaires for elderly patients' development of life, diet and exercise habits",and analysed cognitive status by comparing the data from the questionnaires before and after the community nursing intervention. Results Compared to baseline, the patients' perceptions of their diseases and the health behaviour-forming rate all showed significant improvement when we implemented the community nursing intervention. Conclusion Systematic health education and positive nursing intervention measures can significantly improve treatment compliance and knowledge of diseases in elderly patients with cardiac-cerebral vascular diseases.
