Therapeutic effect of vildagliptin and insulin glargine aspart injection in patients with type 2 diabetes
Abstract：Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of vildagliptin combined with insulin glargine aspart injection in patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods Fifty patients with type 2 diabetes who had poor blood glucose control with insulin glargine aspart injection were divided into two groups One group is to take additional Vildagliptin (50 mg,twice daily,n=25),the other group is to take additional Acarbose (100 mg,three times a day,n=25). Blood glucose (including FPG and 2hPG),HbA1c,BMI and insulin dose were observed after 24 weeks. Results In the Vildagliptin group,FPG,2hPG,HbA1c and insulin-dose were decreased significantly (P<0.05). BMI and hypoglycemia showed no changes (P>0.05). Conclusion Vildagliptin with insulin glargine aspart injection has equivalent effect with Acarbose combined with insulin glargine aspart injection in decreasing 2hPG and HbA1c,without increasing the body weight or the risk to hypoglycemia. Vildagliptin has better effect in decreasing FPG and improving the function of the islet cells.
