Abstract:Objective To explore the expression and clinical significance of HPV16、18E6 and p53 in cervical carcinoma. Methods 40 cases of patients with cervical carcinoma in our hospital from July 2007 to July 2010 were selected to be studied HPV16、18E6 and p53's expressions were detected by immunohistochemical SP method. And other 20 cases of normal tissue adjacent to carcinoma were selected as control. Analyzed the relationship between the expression of these factors and the clinical pathological factors in patients with cervical carcinoma. Results The positive expression rates of HPV16、18E6(75.00%)and p53(22.50%) in the cervical cancer patients were higher than that in the normal tissues(40.00%) and (0.00%),the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05);The expression of HPV16、18E6 was related to age、pathologic type and histological grading (P < 0.05);The expressions of p53 was related to histological grading and clinical stage (P < 0.05),all of them were not related to lymph node metastasis (P >0.05);The positive expression of p53 in cervical cancer was negatively correlated with the positive expression of HPV16、18E6 (P <0.05). Conclusion On the one hand ,the occurrence of cervical carcinoma is closely related with HPV infection and detecting the expression of HPV16,18E6 in patients has important reference value on early diagnosis of cervical carcinoma On the other hand, HPV has correlation with p53,HPV may act on the p53 gene which causes its mutation and loses its activity, leading to the occurrence and development of cervical cancer.
