Analysis of risk factors forbacterial colonization of PICC puncture point intheelderly tumor patients
Abstract:Objective To analyze risk factors for bacterial Colonization of PICC puncture point in elderly tumor patients. Methods 142 cases of elderly cancer patients with PICC from October 2015 to January 2016 were enrolled for this study. We analyzed the relationship between the general information, the PICC maintenance information and the bacterial colonization of PICC puncture point. Results A total of 42 patients' bacterial culture were positive, and the incidence was 29.58%. Multiple factor logistic regression analysis showed that gender, proliferation, esposed tube length and blood platelet counts were risk factors of bacterial colonization of PICC puncture point in the elderly cancer patients. Conclusion Electrocardiogram should be used to located the catheter tip,and the exposed catheter length should be controlled within 4cm.Monitoring blood platelet counts and enhancing health education can reduce the occurrence of bacterial colonization of PICC puncture point.
