Abstract:The variable step size LMS adaptive filtering algorithm is widely used in engineering projects due to its powerful sig-nal processing ability and simple implementation.By constructing a function to change the step size factor, the convergence speed of the algorithm is improved and the stability is enhanced, which greatly improves the shortcomings of the traditional adaptive filtering algorithm. However, there are still shortcomings in the convergence speed and steady-state performance of the algorithm. To solve this problem,a new variable step size LMS adaptive filtering algorithm is proposed.By establishing a new error signal and step fac-tor function, the convergence speed of the algorithm is better compatible with the steady-state error. In this paper, the influence of key parameters on filtering performance in the new method is analyzed and compared, and the optimal parameters are used for as-signment and compared with the existing algorithms.Simulation results show that the improved algorithm has better performance in convergence speed,steady-state error and time-varying tracking ability compared with other original algorithms, and has certain engineering application value.
