Abstract：This paper introduces the composition and working principle of the very low frequency(VLF)communication sys-tem,which has such characteristics as mobility,flexibility,and high destruction resistance,and it has become an important means of military strategic command of the land,sea and air trinity.This paper analyzes the history of development,the route and charac-teristics of technology of airborne VLF communication system in the USA and Russia,expounds the key technologies.This study can provide reference for the future development of airborne VLF communication technology in China.
