Abstract:The atmospheric refraction effect has a serious influence on the accuracy of radar angle measurement and is an im-portant factor restricting the performance of radar system. In order to solve this problem, the refraction model of electromagnetic wave in the troposphere is studied in this paper, and two hypotheses are put forward for the propagation characteristics of electromag-netic wave. When electromagnetic waves propagate in the atmosphere, they follow both circular and non-circular curves.Based on these two hypotheses, two different correction methods are adopted in this paper, and the correction methods are verified by experi-ments.The test results show that the two correction methods can improve the accuracy of radar angle measurement, and the correc-tion effect is better according to the non-arc correction method. This study is of great significance for understanding the influence of atmospheric refraction on radar angle measurement, and provides technical support for improving the performance of radar system.
