Ground Net Characteristics of VLF Umbrella Antenna

Abstract：In this paper ,different forms of ground net of VLF transmitting antennas are simulated by electromagnetic software FEKO to study and analyze the influence of various ground net on loss resistance .The efficiency of the antennas are calculated based on various antenna models established .The ground nets are divided into groups and contrasted according to the data obtained ,then the best one can be found .For VLF umbrella antenna ,the efficiency of the radial pattern of ground net is more than eighty percent ,it is efficient .However ,rectangular ground net is not so good .Compared to the radial pat-tern of ground net ,the efficiency of the radial pattern of ground net with return rings is not higher .
