The Impact of Weight Increase in Service Life on Ship Performance and Weight Control Measures

Abstract：Weight increase in service life is the gradual displacement increase during years and years .There is no con‐firmed quantitative analysis .In the paper ,the main reason of weight increase in service life is analyzed qualitatively .The method of considering the impact of weight increase in service life on stability and longitudinal strength is put forward .And the effects of vertical center gravity (VCG) ,wind area and wind area centroid on ship wind‐resist ability are discussed .The weight control measures are given at last .
