Study on the Route Calculating Method Based on Improved Ellipsoid Model

Abstract：In order to improve the plane's track precision ,the improved ellipsoid model is constructed considering the flight height .Using its symmetry ,the direct formula of the initial course is derived through spatial vector analyses .The mis-take that exists in previous formula used to calculate the route distance is pointed out and corrected ,and the rigorous formula is available with the help of computer algebra system Mathematica .These formulae derived in this paper can provide theoreti-cal basis for the determination of the route elements by area navigation computers .
